Welcome To
Our Lady of Mercy N.S.

From our Principal Mr. Tómas Walsh

Welcome to Our Lady of Mercy National School Stradbally. Our School is a Catholic School, catering for boys and girls from Junior Infants to 6th Class. It is a six-teacher school with 5 classrooms and 1 Special Education Teacher. Our Lady of Mercy N.S. Stradbally is a vibrant, inclusive, and values-driven learning community. What makes our school so special is the powerful partnership between our fantastic staff, pupils, parents, and wider community. Together, we create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

At the heart of our school is a strong ethos of equality, respect, and child-centred learning. This ethos underpins everything we do – it allows each member of our school community to feel safe, included, and celebrated for who they are. It’s what enables us to foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere where diversity is cherished and every voice matters.

Our facilities support innovative, engaging learning experiences, and our passionate staff bring care, creativity, and commitment to every classroom. We believe deeply in nurturing the whole child – academically, emotionally, and socially – and our school culture reflects that care and holistic approach every day.

We also recognise the importance of supporting families. We have a growing school having doubled in size over the past decade and we’re still expanding. We’re proud – but not surprised – by the strong reputation we’ve built. It’s a reflection of the dedication, collaboration, and shared values that define us.

I warmly invite you to explore our website and discover more about what makes Our Lady of Mercy NS such a special place to learn and grow.

Activities

Our Lady of Mercy National School strives to create broad learning experiences for each child. This is achieved both through the curriculum and through additional learning experiences where children form friendships, improve their fitness and develop an understanding and appreciation of cultivating a good work ethic.

Community

We have a very dedicated, hardworking, energetic staff who are committed to the welfare and education of our pupils. The staff provide a broad range of learning experiences in a safe, supportive and caring environment. We also offer many extra-curricular activities that are greatly enjoyed by our pupils.
